 Over 160 women from all over the Galilee region gathered together on October 17, 2007 in Shafamer for a Christian Women’s Conference sponsored by the Association of Baptist Churches.. The theme of this year’s conference was “Looking with New Eyes.” The featured speaker was Andrawos Abu Ghazaleh, who ministered in Galilee for 7 years in the 1990s and presently leads a ministry training Christian leaders around the world.
The first topic was entitled “how did God build the belief of Mary and Martha” and used John 11:1-44 as scriptural reference. The second topic revolved around the question of God’s grace and asked the question, “How does God provide us with grace as we go through life?” Throughout the event, encouraging testimonies were offered. The event was coordinated by Sister Rose Obaid, the ABC head of women’s ministry. She opened her home for ministry 15 years ago and through this God has greatly blessed the church in Toraan. She has been serving as the Women's Ministry coordinator within ABC since 2004.
